How to use Signal on your desktop computer


Signal is a cross-platform encrypted messaging service that allows users to send messages, make audio and video calls, share photos, videos, documents and links with friends. It was launched a few years ago by a former co-founder of a similar instant messaging app, WhatsApp. Since then, it has successfully positioned Signal as a privacy-focused alternative to WhatsApp.

The instant messaging app is available on mobile (iOS and Android) and other platforms including web and desktop. In this article, we’ll show you how to use the Signal app on your Windows desktop. But before you start, you must have the Signal app installed on your smartphone.

How to use Signal on a desktop computer

First, you will need to download and install Signal on your computer.

  • Faucet Download for Windows.
  • Download, install and open the Signal app on your computer.

  • You will then see a QR code. This is what you will need to scan to link your account

Scan the QR code:

  • Open the Signal app on your smartphone.
  • Tap the profile icon in the top left corner of the app
  • Scroll and press Linked devices.
  • Then press the + icon and allow Signal to use the phone’s camera

  • Finally, enter the name of your preferred device, then tap Complete phone pairing from your office. Your contacts, groups, and chat history will be immediately linked to your desktop app.
