On Wednesday, Ekta Kapoor took to social media to announce her new webcast. The producer of the video hints at launching a reality show, but said “dancing and singing” was not her cup of tea. Ensuring the reality show would have drama, she also addressed speculation surrounding the anchor. “You will soon know. All I can say is that it’s a debut that the whole world has been waiting for, myself included. According to sources, he is the Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut which will support Ekta’s new show, based on the format of the international show ‘Temptation Island’. The actor even confirmed the news yesterday on his Instagram but quickly deleted it.
A source shared with indianexpress.com that the creators have planned a grand launch for the show on February 3. Kangana, making her digital debut, will be seen in an interesting avatar. “The format has young people locked away on a remote island and tasked with various tasks. Apart from being the host, Kangana will also act as a judge or a policeman, who will give them the task. She will be the only connection for them,” the source added. The show will air on ALTBalaji and MX Player.
In his video, Ekta also hinted at the same saying that the show will have a bit of policing, adding that “it’s time to do something new on the digital space.” The producer went on to say that the non-fiction show will create a lot of ripples.
“TOM WILL REVEAL THE NAME OF THE D SHOW ND STAR WHO BARS HIM! Until then guess badass khel…… disclaimer I declare that I am in no way concerned and therefore responsible or liable in any way for the content produced or made available on ALTBalaji / MX Player. I also don’t endorse any of the things/claims made in the story/web series they produced,” she wrote in the caption.
On the work front, Kangana Ranaut has returned to work on the inaugural project as a producer – Tiku marries Sheru last month. Tanu Weds actor Manu took to his Instagram Stories to share a series of BTS photos from the shoot. On one of the photos, Kangana wrote, “Glad to be back on set after the latest virus broke.”
