The Telegram messaging app has reportedly stopped working for many users, especially in Eastern Europe. The instant messaging service’s official Twitter account tweeted that users were having trouble signing in shortly before the app’s services were restored. Telegram Messenger did not work for almost an hour. Soon, users took to Twitter to report the outage with funny memes and hilarious reactions. According to the Downdetector website, most users reported problems sending or receiving messages and connecting to the server. Telegram Messenger apologized for the inconvenience to users and noted that the outage has been corrected. Telegram soon to enable video calling, functionality added in the beta version of the app.
Telegram is a cloud-based video telephony and VoIP service with end-to-end encryption for secret chat only. The apps are available for Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Windows, macOS, and GNU / Linux and originated in Russia in 2013. Users can send messages and exchange photos, videos, stickers, audio, and files of any type. Users in Europe have reportedly faced problems navigating the app. DownDetector noted that most of the problems that users face are sending or receiving messages and connecting to the server. Telegram took to Twitter and said the issue is being resolved. “Some of our users in Eastern Europe may have experienced connection issues in the past 45 minutes. Everything should be fine now, sorry for the inconvenience.

This is not the first time that the online messaging app has crashed. In June of this year, Telegram experienced an outage that prevented users from sending and receiving messages on all of its platforms, including mobiles and apps. The issues ranged from connections to the server to sending and receiving messages, as well as a few issues connecting to the service.
